Ebola and the US Response Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Ebola and the US Response - Essay Example This was featured when the main Ebola cases were accounted for in Texas and New York. In spite of the frantic scramble for some similarity to lucid reaction, the government’s approach gives off an impression of being clumsy, ill-equipped and deficient. Maybe the suitable improvement that could best characterize the government’s reaction to Ebola was when President’s Barack Obama designated Ron Klain as the â€Å"Ebola Czar†. Klain doesn't hold any clinical degree since he is a political usable. His arrangement should enable the legislature to explore through the complexities of the organization, planning different government and state offices to tackle the issue. His political astuteness was likewise expected to adequately explain legislative arrangement and reaction. Shockingly, this move mirrors a mistaken procedure that seems to move toward the issue from the political perspective, maintaining the concentration from the clinical and the logical. It sends an inappropriate message, adding to open insanity since apparently the administration isn't paying attention to issues. For sure, there are as of now open authorities who are sabotaging the government reaction to the issue, for example, New Jersey Governor C hris Christie, who have forced stricter isolate rules (Sanchez and Cohen, 2014). The case would have been diverse had a specialist was designated to the post. Any approach proclamation would be trustworthy and legitimate. There are a few ramifications to the deficient and befuddled government reaction. To begin with, there is the situation of the isolate, which could encroach on people’s common freedoms. The government gives off an impression of being appointing quite a bit of policymaking here to the states. Benjamin Hayes, the Center for Disease Control representative, was cited as saying, â€Å"We don’t have the power to instruct the states when explorers end up in their states†¦ We set the base rules, and the states have the decision to fix those guidelines† (Dizard, 2014).

What Is Acupuncture? Possible Side Effects Acupuncture in Practice Research Is Acupuncture for Me? View All Back To Top Acupuncture for depression has increasingly become the subject of research studies both in the East and the West. While theres little consensus about whether acupuncture has an important place in the treatment of depression, its also true that its a really hard treatment to investigate empirically. For this reason, most existing research is of low quality (from a meta-analysis perspective). In other words, its really hard to know whether acupuncture has much of an effect on depression, beyond what we already know can be achieved from medication, therapy, or a combination of the two. However, acupuncture continues to grow in popularity, particularly in the East, and so it deserves proper attention as a potential treatment for depression, especially for those for whom other methods have failed. What Is Depression As a quick summary, depression is an illness characterized by certain symptoms, and not just sadness or the blues. The most common symptoms are listed below: losing interest in our usual activitieshaving negative thoughts and worrying about the futurefeeling irritable, tired, or agitatedbeing unable to sleep or sleeping too muchfeeling hopeless about the futurehaving thoughts of suicide While depression is most commonly treated with medication, therapy, or a combination of the two, increasingly complementary treatments are being used and sought out by persons with depression. What Is Acupuncture? Acupuncture is a technique based on traditional Chinese medicine that involves unblocking channels of energy (also known as Qi) that are thought to reside within the body. Chinese medicine regards the mind and body as interacting together, such that what you feel in your mind can have a physical impact on your body. Emotions are represented by five different elements as follows: Fear (Water)Anger (Wood)Happiness (Fire)Worry (Earth)Grief (Metal) Its believed that these have an effect on internal organs, which are thought of as either yin or yang. Each organ is thought to correspond to a certain emotion. For example, the liver is thought to correspond to the emotion of anger. Having feelings of anger could cause trouble to your liver, and a blocked flow to your liver could also result in you feeling angry, according to Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. In order to rid you of congestion, where energy gets stuck, acupuncture clears the meridians in your body to allow Qi to freely move about. This is accomplished in practice by inserting fine needles into certain points of your body, that are thought to correspond to the meridians and connect to your organs. Understanding Emotions in Traditional Chinese Medicine Possible Side Effects of Acupuncture While the side effects of acupuncture are rare, its important to realize that they do exist. Below are lists of both the mild and serious side effects that can result. Using only a certified professional for acupuncture reduces the risk of side effects. Potential Mild Side Effects The following side effects may be seen at the site where the needles were inserted: itchinessallergic reactionfeeling sorebleeding or bruising Muscle twitching and feeling tired or drowsy are other potential side effects. Rare Serious Side Effects The following side effects are rare but possible: spinal injuryinfectionrespiratory problemscardiac problems This would generally result from improper administration of acupuncture and is why it is important to receive it from a trained professional. How Acupuncture for Depression Is Practiced How does acupuncture for depression work? The acupuncturist will insert needles into certain points of your body that are thought to connect to the negative emotions that you are having. The needles are thought to fix blocked energy or imbalances in your body, which will also influence your mind. This process is something you would receive once a week or several times a week depending on your individual situation. Below is a list of some of the points that might be used to relieve depression symptoms. Each of these corresponds to a certain point on your body: Guanyuan (CV4): lower backQihai (CV6): below the navelZhongwan (CV12): over the middle of the stomachHegu (L14): on the handMaster of Heart 6 (MH6): underside of wristYanglingquan (GB34): on the legZusanli (ST36): below the kneeTaixi (K13): on the ankleShugu (BL65): So, after your acupuncturist has inserted needles in the identified locations, you would lie still on a table in a peaceful setting, such as with music playing, aromatherapy, and mood lighting. Its not hard to imagine that this might make you feel better, regardless of whether the science behind acupuncture is valid. In fact, the state after receiving acupuncture has been referred to as acubliss. Research on Acupuncture for Depression While there are numerous studies on the effectiveness of acupuncture for depression, the quality of these studies sometimes comes into question. This isnt because researchers dont want to properly investigate acupuncture, but rather that its really hard to set up a proper study to test this treatment without some sort of bias getting in the way. Below are some of the potential sources of bias and why they may be a problem for acupuncture in particular. difficulty creating an adequate control condition (i.e., its hard to fake acupuncture)difficulty blinding patients and practitioners (i.e., the acupuncturist will know if they are doing the treatment or not)problem of reporting bias (i.e., studies in the east are more likely to show positive findings than studies in the West)problem that acupuncture has a strong placebo effect (so any real smaller effect may be hard to detect) So, what constitutes a strong research study on acupuncture for depression? It should have the following qualities: include an adequate control groupaccount for the placebo effecttake into account blindingreplicate results across different locations Acupuncture for Depression Research: A Review Study Rather than consider the results of individual studies, here we will take a look at the findings of one large review study that included 64 studies and 7104 participants. What that study showed was that most of the studies included in the review were at risk for various kinds of bias (e.g., detection bias, selection bias, reporting bias, etc.) However, there was low-quality evidence suggesting that acupuncture could moderately reduce the severity of depression compared to no treatment, waitlist, or treatment as usual. When compared with sham acupuncture, it was shown that there was a small reduction in the severity of depression. This suggests that acupuncture may have more of an effect beyond just as a placebo for depression. Compared to medication, there was low-quality evidence of a small benefit, which varied by type of medication and the mode of acupuncture (regular vs. electro). Finally, when compared with psychological therapy, the results were unclear. No conclusions could be drawn about evidence of an effect beyond that observed for psychological therapy for depression. In addition, few of the studies conducted follow-ups or studied other variables such as quality of life, which are important in depression research. Western Research on Acupuncture and Stress Meanwhile, there does seem to be evidence of the effectiveness of acupuncture in terms of blocking stress hormones and the stress response. This may be because the needles activate natural painkillers in the brain in the form of endorphins. Is Acupuncture for Depression Right for Me? Are you still not sure whether acupuncture for depression is right for you? Here are some factors to consider: Can you afford it or will the cost of it be covered by a health plan for you?Do you have time to attend sessions on a regular basis? Are you open to the experience and willing to accept potential benefits from it?Is there a certified professional that you can receive it from? (If you arent sure where to look, consider asking for a referral from your doctor or other allied professional such as a registered massage therapist. Check their credentials and training before you sign anything).Have you exhausted other traditional avenues of treatment for depression or are you looking for something to complement other treatments?Have you spoken to your doctor about your desire to receive acupuncture? Based on your answers to these questions, you should develop a better understanding as to whether it is right for you. A Word From Verywell Acupuncture for depression is an alternative therapy that has received only modest research support. This healing therapy based on ancient Chinese Medicine appears to show a small benefit for those with depression. If you are considering receiving this treatment, be sure that you contact a registered professional with proper training. The 7 Best Online Help Resources for Depression

The Triumph of Christianity in the Roman Empire Essays

Christians went from being persecuted to dominating Rome rather quickly. In a world where separation between church and state does not exist, a Christian becoming the sole emperor of Rome symbolized a huge turning point in history. The power switched and the Pagans in turn became persecuted. Christians rose up and took control of all aspects of Roman society. The Pagan past was destroyed, banned, or forgotten about. Those Christians that did not agree with how things were being run either left the empire and became monks or formed their own sect. All of Rome changed. The part that interested me the most in these readings were those that strayed away from the standard Christianity that the emperor instated and followed their own†¦show more content†¦Like the monks they too believed in penance, suffering, and martyrdom (164). Led by Donatus, this movement dominated North Africa. The church was not purely religious; however, its underlay was a revolutionary social movement. It was popular among peasants due to promises of reversing roles of slaves and masters. What confuses me is that the base of their religion seems very much involved with the government. That alone would not be surprising, since many religions share that quality; but, Donatus insisted on complete separation of this Spirit-directed Church from the state (164). Separation of church and state was a big issue in the beginning of Christianity, mostly because it didnt exist. God supposedly chose the emperor Constantine and in turn Constantine chose Christianity as the empires official religion. The union of church and state may not have been as great a problem if freedom of speech had also existed. It seems weird to imagine a right that I have taken for granted all of my life not to be present. Pagans experience a loss of political rights and status. Anti-pagan and anti-Semitic preaching rallied everyone against the outsiders. Those, such as the popes, that enjoyed high ranks in Christianity now enjoyed high ranks in the government. The Ethical Implications Of A Code Of Ethics - 1755 Words

Frequently, individuals experience scenarios in their professional careers where they question the ethical implications associated with decisions they or their colleagues make. These scenarios that occur from day to day can result in reduced productivity, employee turnover and mistrust in the work environment. An employee at any level within an organization should be expected to follow a well-defined, structured Code of Ethics outlining the organizations expectations. There was a period prior to well documented and publicized corporate ethics scandals that organizations did not see the need for a Code of Ethics program or policy (Weber, J, Waseileski, M, 2012). As waves of scandals spanned thru decades of American History, government regulations were formulated to protect people, property and businesses (Weber, J, Waseileski, M, 2012). In the modern business environment there is an expectation that organizations will implement and maintain an effective Code of Ethics policy. These po lices serve many functions other than promoting transparency and protection from unethical behavior. Important aspects such as ethical repsonsiblility, guidance for all employees, legal compliance and fraud prevention are all very important and support the relevance of the existence of a Code of Ethics (Weber, J, Waseileski, M, 2012). Gomez Expository Essay Security is an Important Part of My Life In today’s society, crime rates have sky rocketed compared to years past. The recession has much to do with laws being broken. People are out of work and getting desperate to ensure their survival. We will write a custom essay sample on Expository Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now Houses are getting broken in to; people are getting cars stolen more than they have in the past. In an attempt to thwart would-be burglars and theft, I make sure the personal security of my family is covered. Security has been used in conjunction with finances, business ventures and materials. I view security as a greater and deeper meaning, one that requires me to be prepared to protect my family. I will not rely on local law enforcement as the sole protectors of my wife and children or our belongings. Police are understaffed in nearly all departments across the state, and are not able to be in every neighborhood at once. Therefore, the responsibility to provide security for my home falls on me. Protection from crime begins with simple steps. I have ensured that all of the locks on my home are deadbolts and are operational. The gates to my yard all have locks to slow would-be burglars. The backyard, with the exception of the grill, has no items of value lying around. Valuables out of view are a deterrent to theft. To keep curiosity down, all windows have blinds that keep people from looking into the house to scope out our belongings. The blinds are only opened if I or my wife is home. My vehicles are both in the garage every night, along with the alarms of both cars activated. One of the more important tools providing security is our home security system. The alarm program allows us to activate the system while we are away, and in the event someone gets inside the house without knowing the code, an audible alarm sounds. The system will also contact law enforcement if the alarms are activated. Deterrents are a big proponent in providing personal security. When deterrents fail, the biggest tool I possess in protecting my family is my firearms and the willingness to use them if necessary. I have ensured I am comfortable and capable to handle the weapons I possess. I have also made sure my wife is equally capable in handling my guns. I have obtained a concealed carry weapon permit allowing me to carry a concealed gun during the day so I can protect myself and my family from car theft or assaulted. While at home, my weapons are locked in a safe to keep them secure from my kids, and burglars, should they make it that far. Before I go to bed, I secure a hand gun in my night stand in case an intruder breaks in at night. Through the deterrents and my firearms, security for my family is greater than that of the average family. Security is being prepared and proactive in protecting what is mine. Some may say I have gone to excess or overboard, but security is the responsibility of every person. I will not make it easy for someone to burglarize my home take from me what I have worked hard for, and take what I love. Security in my life is taken seriously, and is not mistaken for financial or business security. Protecting my family and our home is security. These bittersweet memories are often memorable and one that stays fresh in my mind is the coming and going of my Golden Retriever puppy, Chance. We will write a custom essay sample on Expository Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now This whole experience taught how to appreciate what I have because you don’t know what you got till it’s gone. One of the most memorable and impactful memories of my life happened when I was just six years old. It was a chilly day in mid January as I cheerfully scampered off the school bus to dash inside and be greeted by a mug of hot chocolate and warm cookies. I was clumsily toying around with Legos while waiting in anticipation for my dad to get home. The moment I saw my dad walk through the door I darted down the stairs and was shocked to see him holding a large, mysterious cardboard box. He informed me that contained inside were loads of cupcakes he had gotten from work, but to my surprise when I looked inside I saw a tiny little puppy bundled up in blanket sleeping on the base of the box. I was thrilled at first but soon after my hopes were crushed when I realized this little dog had fatal cancer and only had a short month to live. Due to his horrible condition we named him Chance for his perseverance to survive such a sickly Herring 2 disease. My roller coaster experience with him helped to mold me into the person that I am today. This memory is so important to me because Chance was the first pet I had ever had the opportunity to call my own and I had also desired to own a puppy ever since I was a baby. Over a short time Chance and I had developed a strong bond from racing around the house and bounding around in the fresh snow. This connection we shared showed me how important companions were and how much I enjoyed having them around me. After a few weeks of living with him he began to show signs of weakness. He would sometimes stumble while walking and even vomit after eating a meal. I was feeling miserable to see him experiencing this pain so our family had to make a decision. We came to a general consensus that it was time to put him down. After a lot of shed tears and heartache I began to understand the situation in a different light. I had begun to realize life ends and living things don’t last forever. I really appreciated chance for what he was and dearly missed him. The great memories with Chance still remained and helped me to cherish his existence even more. Overall this memory taught me how to enjoy what I have and be grateful because I may blink and not see it ever again. How to cite Expository Essay, Essays Expository Essay Free Essays

This report will suggests the best suit international market and efficient marketing mix for entering into that market through physical stores. Macro and Microenvironment of Automobile Industry Nowadays, analyzing the external and internal market forces is becoming the most important factor for the marketers. Similarly, in automobile industry, many micro and macro factors are affecting business growth of the organizations. The market competition in this industry is very high (Aydin and Kacker 2015). Therefore, Tesla needs to conduct efficient market analysis in order to know the external and internal forces that could affect business growth of the company. Following are the micro and macro analysis of automobile industry in order to understand the impact of market forces on electric vehicles manufacturer. Microenvironment Analysis (PESTLE) PESTLE framework helps to evaluate the external market forces, which may affect business growth of an organization positively or negatively. This management framework includes six factors such as political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental. Following are the impact of these factors on electric vehicle manufacturer in global market. Political: In order to conduct business in global environment, it is important to consider the political stability of the targeted country. An electric car manufacturer needs to comply with a set of legislations imposed by the government. For example, organizations need to provide efficient safety features in order to comply with the governmental policies (Cardoza et al. 2015). On the other hand, the company needs to maintain a minimum fuel efficiency of the products. In case of electric vehicles, the products should have minimum energy efficiency. Economic: Economic condition of a country has impact on the buying power of consumers. It is an external market force for the automobile industry. Electric vehicles are expensive and therefore, an economical recession will prevent the organizations from conducting sustainable business (Conaty 2016). Therefore, it can be said that economic factor has wide impact on the automobile industry. Social: When it comes to the social factors, it has impact on the buyers decision-making process. Social background of the targeted consumers influences the buying behavior. For example, consumers from high social background will seek for products with premium pricing (Zander, McDougall-Covin and Rose 2015). On the other hand, people from low social background will seek for moderate quality products at low cost. Therefore, it is highly important for automobile industry to evaluate the social factors before entering in international market. Technological: In automobile industry, technological improvement affects the business process in an effective manner. A car manufacturing organization should implement innovative technologies in order to attract the consumers towards the brand (Brouthers, Nakos and Dimitratos 2015). When it comes to the electric vehicle manufacturer, the organizations need to be more attentive while introducing new technologies. It is highly important to evacuate whether the targeted consumers are accustomed with innovative technologies or not. Legal: In automobile industry, the organizations need to evaluate the legal frameworks imposed by the government. Different countries have different legal procedures (Cantwell 2015). Without complying with the legal frameworks, it will not be possible for the organizations to conduct sustainable business. Environmental: In order to conduct business in global market, organizations should maintain the environment quality. Now, in case of the automobile industry, the organizations need to maintain minimum carbon emission (Radebaugh, Sullivan and Daniels 2015). However, the electric vehicle manufacturers need to ensure that their products are energy efficient. In this manner, it will be possible to comply with the environmental policies. Micro Analysis (SWOT) This management framework helps to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunity and threats of an industry. Following is the SWOT analysis of automobile industry. The key focus of the analysis is electric vehicles. Strengths Weaknesses Improved technology helps the companies to attract consumers Electric car is environment friendly and therefore, organizations would be able to comply with environmental policies Consumers are showing keen interest on electric vehicles due to cost efficiency Bargaining power of consumers is high in this industry Government has imposed many policies such as excise duty, which tends the company to increase price Opportunity Threats 1. Fuel cost do not have impact on car sales 2. Energy efficiency helps to increase organizational sales 3. Organizations in this industry can expand in global market through innovative technology The market competition in this industry is high Economical recession has negative impact on organizations growth Cost of research and development is very high in this industry Sealing cost is remarkably high in this industry (Source: Meyer and Peng 2016) Analyzing Internal Business Factors of Tesla Motors Internal business factors refer to the internal analysis of an organization. Tesla Motors deals with electric vehicles and now planning to expand in global market through physical stores. Therefore, it is highly important to conduct an internal analysis through which it will be possible for the company to understand the probable opportunities (Richter, Sinkovics and Ringle 2016). The current profit margin of the company is 29.6%. Now, the company has planned to reduce its battery cost by 30% in order to increase the profitability. Apart from that, the company needs to expand business in international market and therefore, it is highly important to evaluate the organizational resources carefully. Following is the internal environment analysis of Tesla Motors, which shows its internal business factors, which can affect organizational growth of the company. Strengths Weaknesses The company has copy rights on its concept car planning Since, Tesla Motors has introduce electric car for the first time, marketing expertise is a positive factor The company has a good brand image, which may help the company in international expansion Products offered by Tesla Motors are innovative in nature Limited fund prevents the company from introducing new products Low manufacturing volume, there is no importance of Tesla in global economy Negative incidents may harm business growth of the company negatively Opportunities Threats The market of electric car is in developing stage and therefore, Tesco has high opportunity to expand in international market The company can work collaboratively with companies like Toyota and Daimler The products are environment friendly and therefore, the company would be able to comply with the environmental policies New organizations are entering in this industry, which is increasing market competition As the market is developing, new market research could change the trend of this industry Governmental interruption may affect business process of the company negatively (Source: Buckley, Burton and Mirza 2016) Evaluation of Markets In order to enter in international market, it is highly important to evaluate different markets before taking the final decision. Here, it is important to consider economic conduction of the country in order to analyze feasibility. Tesla Motors needs to evaluate the market based on product demands and market competition. The company should choose a country, where market competition is present (Hamilton and Webster 2015). In this manner, it will be possible to gain competitive advantages. Now, Tesla Motors needs to understand the market from every aspect in order to ensure sustainable development. Following is the process of evaluating different markets in international market. Country identification: Here, the company needs to identify the potential country for the electric vehicle. Developing country will be the most efficient target market for Tesla Motors. In such market, the company would be able to reduce manufacturing cost in an efficient manner (Lpez Duarte, Vidal Surez and Gonzlez Daz 2015). In such countries, the company would be able to reduce the labor cost and other resources. Apart from that, the economical background of the country should be taken under consideration. Preliminary screening: Here, Tesla motors needs to take a close look to the external market forces. For example, the economical stability and buying powers of the consumers are the most important factors, which the company needs to observe (Neelankavil 2015). Apart from that, the company should evaluate exchange rate and currency stability of the nominated countries. In-Depth Screening: In this step, Tesla needs to conduct in-depth evaluation of the markets. Here, it will be beneficial to observe business growth of companies in automobile organizations (Drogendijk and Martn 2015). Following this process, the company would be able to narrow down the process of market selection in an efficient manner. Final Selection: Here, the company should select a country based on the previous analysis. In this step, the company needs to take the final decision of international expansion (Eicher 2016). In order to select the appropriate market, the company needs to consider some critical success factors such as market competition, buyers power and demand of technological products. Selection of Market with Justifications In order to enter in global market, Singapore would be the most feasible location for Tesla Motors. Singapore is a developing country in Asian market. In this country, Tesla would be able to reduce labor wages. After conducting market evaluation, it can be said that political risk factor of Singapore market is comparatively low from other countries. The major threat of automobile industry is restrictive political framework. Expanding business in this country would help the company to maintain sustainability (Cuervo-Cazurra 2016). When it comes to the economic factors, the country is vibrant in terms of economical background. Singapores per-capita income is 76,860 dollars. The business environment is corruption-free, which will help the company to conduct ethical business. Due to favorable economic state, the market competition of this country is high and therefore, it will be easy for the company to gain competitive advantages. When it comes to the social factors, purchasing power of the consumers is very high in this country. Therefore, Tesla Motors will be able to maintain stable cash inflow in an effective manner (Folsom et al. 2016). Singapore is a technologically advanced country, where demand of innovative products is very high. Consumers are willing to buy product with good features. Therefore, it will be easy for Tesla Motors to manufacture electric cars in this particular market. After evaluating the Singapore market from different aspects, it can be said that the selected market is feasible for the company. In this market, the company would be able to influence consumers buying behavior through innovative range of electric vehicles. Market Entry Strategy for Tesla Motors In order to enter in Singapore market, Tesla Motors should implement Joint Venture strategy. Through this strategy, the company would be able to reduce entry cost in an efficient manner. The company should evaluate the company with which they can conduct collaborative business. Here, the company can choose Ford as the company with which strategic alliance is possible (Ghemawat 2015). In this entry strategy, it is highly important to understand the required resources for the planned expansion. For example, the company should have adequate knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of their strategic alliance. Tesla should take the responsibility of product manufacturing in order to build a global image. Through this market entry strategy, the company would be able to reduce the cost of physical store in Singapore market (Deyo 2016). Apart from that, the cost of manufacturing unit will be reduced through this strategy. Entering in international market is costly and therefore, it wo uld be easy to merge up with another organization in order to maintain profitability. Recommended Marketing Mix for the Selected Market Before entering in international market, it is highly important to frame the marketing strategies through appropriate marketing mix. It would help Tesla Motors to gain superiority in international market. Following is the marketing mix for Tesla Motors in order to conduct sustainable business in Singapore market. 7s Marketing mix framework Product: In order to attract consumers in Singapore market, the company should incorporate innovative features into their products. Apart from that, the company should pay close attention to the product quality. Following are the features that Tesla will incorporate into the electric vehicles. The products will be energy efficient High security features will ensure low damages Zero carbon emission would help to improve environment condition Minimum recharging time (less than one hour) The above-mentioned features would help to attract the consumers in Singapore market. Additionally, the company needs to focus on product design and build in order to gain competitive advantages. Price: Economic background of Singapore is feasible and therefore the company would implement premium-pricing strategy. Purchase power of consumers in Singapore is high. Therefore, this pricing strategy would be favorable for the targeted customers in this country. However, the company has planned to reduce cost of lithium ion battery by 30% in order to increase organizational profitability. People in Singapore are willing by products with high technological features. Therefore, high pricing will not be an issue for this group of customer. Place: Tesla will conduct business through physical stores in Singapore market. Apart from that, the company will also collaborate with the distributers in order to increase product availability in this market. Consumers will be able to book products through official website of Tesla Motors. Online selling process is not used in automobile industry before. Therefore, this service will attract large group of consumers in an effective manner. People: Tesla would recruit workforce from the Singapore market. Through this strategy, the company would be able to reduce company wages, because labor cost of this country is comparatively low. However, the employees are skilled and well efficient to handle critical situation. The company will recruit based on skills and cultural background of people. In order to maintain business sustainability, the company will avoid segregation while recruiting. A fair recruitment policy would help the company to utilize knowledge of skilled workforce. Promotion: In order to promote the products in Singapore market, the company would adopt online promotional strategies. Tesla should adopt celebrity endorsement in order to influence buying behavior of Singapores consumers. Wirth effective social media promotional strategy, the company would be able to communicate with the targeted consumers directly. The proposed promotional strategies would help the company to promote the electric vehicles in Singapore market in an efficient manner. Process: In order to expand in this particular market, the company should adopt joint venture strategy with Ford, which is a car manufacturing company of global market. Through this strategy, the company would be able to work collaboratively. Therefore, it can be said that cost of expansion will be low with this strategy. Physical evidence: In order to increase trust level of the consumers, Tesla Motors will open physical stores in Singapore market. However, the company will also provide the facility of online purchase. Consumers can buy products through physical stores or the website. The company will provide efficient training to the employees in order to ensure high quality reception to the consumers. Conclusion While concluding, it can be said that in order to expand in international market, it is highly important to conduct feasibility study. After conducting the micro and macro environment analysis of automobile industry, it can be said that organizations in this sector has huge opportunity to enter in international market. In case of Tesla Motors, The Company should target Singapore market with joint venture strategy. Through this strategy, Tesla Motors will be able to reduce the cost of international expansion in an effective manner. Reference list Aydin, N. and Kacker, M., 2015. Human Rights in Catholic Teachings

The Catholic Churchhas expressed human rights issues in various platforms since time immemorial. In recent times, the Magisterium of the Roman Pontiffs has been used as the principle means of human rights interventions. The Popes have successfully used Encyclicals to convey various facets of the social doctrine of the Catholic Church. Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Human Rights in Catholic Teachings specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Consequently, the social doctrine, (preceded by the excellent input of Leo XIII and augmented by the consecutive contribution of the Magisterium) has been integrated into doctrinal corpus (Paul II2). This paper will therefore discuss some Catholic teachings on human rights issues. The Encyclical of Paul VI (which declares that the social issue is a global phenomenon) brings out a moral fact based on an objective assessment of the reality. In this context, the originality of the Encycl icalPopulorumProgressio gives credence to the moral evaluation of the social issue. As a result, politicians and inhabitants of rich countries viewed as individuals (particularly if they are Christians) have the moral duty to take into consideration the relationship between their behaviorand the poverty that is prevalent among millions of people. In the Encyclical, Pope Paul VI terms this moral duty as the duty of solidarity(Paul II 7). Alternatively, the originality of the Encyclical Populorum Progressioalso addresses the fundamental concept of development (perceived within the universal interrelationship framework) which changes significantly. Real development cannot be realized if accumulation of resourcesis done at the peril of human development and without due consideration for the spiritual, cultural and social dimensions of the masses. The concept of development (viewed as the social doctrine of the Catholic Church) is aptly captured in the concluding paragraph of the docum ent which asserts that peace is now regarded as the new name of development (Paul II 8). As a matter of fact, if the social matter has attained a universal appeal, the reason could be that the demand for justice can only be achieved at that level. If this demand is overlooked, then the victims of injustice could respond with aggression to restore universal parity. Individuals who are denied a fair share of resources initially destined for everyone could resort to violence in order to air their grievances. The Encyclical raises an important question that merits our consideration:Advertising Looking for essay on religion theology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More How can one justify the fact that huge sums of money, which could and should be used for increasing the development of the people, are instead utilized for the enrichment of individuals or groups, or assigned to the increase of stockpiles of weapons(both in developed co untries and in the developing ones) thereby upsetting the real priorities? Ifdevelopmentis the new name for peace, then military preparations are the major enemy of the integral development of people (Paul II 9). The concept of development can be assessed with respect to this statement by Pope Paul VI. The world is currently characterized by greed and deception and most governments are least concerned about the spiritual and human rights ofthe masses. On the other hand, peace would be realized in the world if perfect justice prevailed among all people. It is worthy to note that the basic tenet of the Encyclical PopulorumProgressio was so popular during the 1960s and the 1970s era. During this period, people were optimistic about the prospect of conquering (without extreme actions) the economic backwardness of the deprived masses through the industrialization process. Within this historical perspective, the United Nations (UN) also supported the development programs of poor countrie s. In fact, a number of bilateral and multilateral measures were adopted by the UN to assist developing countries. At the same time, the Catholic Church felt it had a moral obligation to comprehend the tribulations created by the new situation and suggest solutions(Massaro 75). The Church wanted to play a major role in supporting these remedial measures through a religious platform (Paul II12). Some of the suggested solutions were based on three fundamental teachings. The Catholic teaches three fundamental aspects about human being. These are: human dignity; human as a social mortal; and the concept of transcendental humanism. Human dignity is a major social teaching that was first recorded in Pope Leo XIII’sRerum Novarum (22). The concept of human dignity(promulgated by the Church) is based on the Biblical account that God created human beings in His own image. Given that human dignity is an innate attribute given by God, every person has a right to it without any kind of p requalification (Vatican II Council 12).Therefore, according to Catholic teachings, human dignity precedes any manmade prequalification.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Human Rights in Catholic Teachings specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The importance of humans as social creatures is also promulgated by Catholic social teaching. For example,EncyclicalGaudium et spes states that all people are integral members of a family. The document states further that the human family can only develop genuinely if its members nurture love amongst themselves towards the commongood(human rights). In other words, real development (such as attainment of human rights) can only be realized if each and every member of the family works together towards the common good. This notion becomes more and more poignant especially in the globalization era where technical development is alleviating obstacles that previously divided people (Va tican II Council 23). According to the Gaudium et spes, one of the prominent aspects of the contemporary world is the escalating interrelationship between men on one hand and the advancement supported mainly by modern technical development (Vatican II Council 25). Nonetheless, real development can only be achieved if there is mutual respect for the spiritual dignity of the masses. The concept of transcendent humanism is explicitly addressed by Pope Paul VI in Populorum Progressio. This concept is based on the notion that the main aim of a person is to attain self-fulfilment via development. Transcendent humanism entails shifting from poor human conditions to ones that befit human stature. According to Pope Paul VI, this attainment is essentially associated with human dignity as well as the right to access fundamental material resources needed to prosper (Vatican II Council 25). It is worthy to note that social encyclicals were authored by the Catholic Church to address emerging soc ial issues on the world platform. For example,EncyclicalPopulorum Progressio (The Development of People) was written in 1967 in response to widespread colonialism during that time. On the other hand, EncyclicalSollicitudo rei Socialis (On Social Concern) was authored in 1987 in response to the growth of global trade. Pope Benedict also lends credence to the intricacy of the social problem. In assessing the society’s reaction to the challenges of Populorum Progressio, he asserts that the current social problems (such as human rights issue) are not only new but also have significant impacts on the current and future wellbeing of the masses. In spite of the wonderful benefits of globalization to international commerce, widespread inequalities are still present in the society (Massaro 76). If You Were In Charge Of Designing This Class, What Elements Would You If You Were In Charge Of Designing This Class, What Elements Would You Include In A Class Devoted To – Essay Example Diagnostics Essay The purpose of this paper is to identify what steps would a prudent go through in order to improve his or her writing skills. What this paper will try to accomplish is provide some different methods that can be adopted by people who wish to improve their writing skills as espoused by the academic community. As with many different disciplines there are three schools of thought in regards to gaining expertise in a given field. As will be highlighted in this paper the merits of direct education as a means of improving ones writing skills will be discussed. Furthermore, a discussion of the strengths of simply practicing as a means of improving ones writing skills will be covered. According to Kanelas et al (1998) it was proposed that performance problems in writing may not be directly related to any competencies such as the understanding of individuals, rather it is the case that individuals simply lack skills or the desire to improve skills. As such one could propose t he argument that in order for a prudent writer to improve his or her writing skills would be through would be to be gain knowledge on various writing techniques. This action could theoretically be achieved through self directed study or classroom instruction.According to Joseph (1998) it is through a process of frequent writing and rewriting with continual feedback that helps individuals improve their skills. As the old Latin adage suggests, discere faciendo or ‘To learn by doing’ is the best method for somebody to improve their writing skills. One could argue that through the constant process of writing and receiving feedback from one’s contemporaries, it would be the case that an individual would hone their skills as an effective writer and as such learn the skills that best suit their needs. In conclusion it may be the case that there is no simple solution as to how an individual can better improve their writing skills, and it may be the case that it is throu gh a combination of both practice and education that would best improve the chances of improving an individual’s writing skills.ReferencesJoseph, A. Domestic Terrorism Midterm Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Domestic Terrorism Midterm - Essay Example While the statement by the FBI is not explicit, it is implied that the target must be a US policy, institution, or political movement, and the act must be violent, though the definition of violent may be vague and ambiguous. Domestic terrorism may be directed either from above or from below. Terrorism from above is carried out by a government or institution that has some legitimate authority. It may be done covertly, where the terrorism is carried on outside formal policy. As an example, the 'Dirty War' in Argentina that utilized death squads was covert terrorism from above (Vohrkyzek, Olson-Raymer, and Whamond, 2001, p.13). It may also be overt as in the case of the Hutu's policy of genocide in Rwanda (Vohrkyzek, Olson-Raymer, and Whamond, 2001, p.13). Domestic terrorism from below is when a group or individual within a country targets a legitimate institution as a means to draw attention to, or change, an official policy. Environmental activists such as the Environmental Liberation Front (ELF) are guilty of domestic terrorism from below. Mao, Guevera, Marighella, and Fanon were not defined as terrorists during their time of activity. History has rewritten the definition of terrorism and they now fall under the new definition. However, initially all these figures were guerilla leaders, which are differentiated from terrorists. Guerilla warfare is different from terrorism in that it is an organized force that believes it has legitimacy due to popular support. In addition, it strikes at government and military targets as a means to overthrow a government. However, these leaders differed in that Marighella believed that random violence could create chaos and an environment for revolution, while Mao and Fanon believed it should not be used against the native population. Guevera was more of a classic guerrilla fighter. Guerrillas represent a political movement, while terrorism supports an ideological agenda. However, both aspects promote violence as a means to an end. Once in power both Mao and Castro utilized violence an d terrorism from above as a means to sustain power and oppress the opposition. More recently the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has been similar to the previous revolutionary organizations. They have some legitimacy by way of recognition as supporting a significant group of oppressed people. In addition, they have a well organized military faction. Their agenda has been the creation of a Palestinian State, though they have used terrorism to promote their goals. They have targeted innocent people, used suicide tactics, and even acted against their own citizens. All of these rebels and organizations have their roots in revolution, but have resorted to terrorism to further their goals. For the PLO and others, this is counter-productive, as the stigma of being a terrorist organization is a costly price in today's environment. 3.) Historical Terrorism It could be argued that the actions of the US settlers against the native population was terrorism from above. In this context, terrorism from above has existed in the US since the first Europeans arrived. It has also been argued that slavery was terrorism from above (Vohrkyzek, Olson-Raymer, and Whamond, 2001, p.36).

Medicare corruption in the United States Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Medicare corruption in the United States - Essay Example receiving red lights from various media like the New York Times and the Federal agents searching for illegal documents that might have translated to fraud. Eventually, Columbia/HCA confessed to committing criminal and civil fraud that amounted to fines of $1.7 billion. The company was forced to change its name to HCA Incorporation in 1999. In 2009, 94 people were charged with cases of fraudulent Medicare claims by the Medicare Fraud Strike Task force. It was the largest number ever charged by the Agency and a total of $251 million was involved in the fraud (WEISER, 2013). In 2011, the same agency charged 91 defendants for taking part in Medicare fraud schemes which involved $259million in false billing. In 2012, the same agency convicted two people for participating in Medicare fraud schemes which involved $1.9 million. Last year, the same agency charged 89 people which included the doctor’s nurses and other medical professions for involving themselves in Medicare Fraud scheme s which totaled to $223 million. Apart from this single cases other drug agencies like GlaxoSmithKline. In June 2nd 2012, the company was on the spotlight again and was forced to pay a fine of $3 billion after it emerged that the company was selling unfit drugs. This is also the largest drug scandal in the world. Just recently, four GSK staff in China was detained after it emerged that the four were engaged in fraud. According to the BBC News, the four had been channeling the money to a traveling agency to influence and bribe doctors to prescribe their company’s drugs. It is imperative to hear this and although you cannot control how doctors prescribe these drugs it became a big scandal when it was discovered (Tom Holland, 2013). It is argued that increased government participation into the Medicare services is leading to massive corruption. This paper therefore recommends that the government of US privatize Medicare services to avoid cases of corruption. Various changes to the

Despite the fact that you dont control the security of an open cloud, the greater part of your information stays isolate from others and security breaks of open mists are uncommon. VDI stands for Virtual desktop infrastructure which has a desktop working framework on a concentrated server in a server farm. VDI is a minor departure from the customer server registering model, some of the time alluded to as server-based processing. 1) Pooled assets: This implies we manage assets at a total level as opposed to at the level of individual servers. The cloud uncovered a pool of limit with regards to use by administrations that require the limit, and this deliberation decouples the virtualized workloads from the physical framework, permitting dynamic workload arrangement and autonomous foundation administration. 2) Self-Service: In the cloud demonstrate, benefit purchasers can utilize a self-benefit involvement, regularly an electronic entrance, to get to the limit they have been assigned, self-arrangement workloads from standing up a solitary VM to sending a perplexing administration, and deal with the life cycle of those workloads. 3) Elasticity: Cloud Elasticity implies that the framework can bolster the changing needs of the association, sending new administrations as required, distributing more assets to administrations that experience overwhelming burden or de-allotting assets to spare power when the heap is light. With cross-cloud administration, workloads can likewise move amongst private and open mists, giving additional limit, geo-scale reach, or different qualities as required. 4) Usage Based: In the cloud show, clients are charged or if nothing else get educated on their cloud asset utilization in light of their genuine asset utilization #3 Resilient File System (ReFS), codenamed Protogon, is a Microsoft exclusive record framework presented with Windows Server 2012 with the goal of turning into the people to come document framework after NTFS. The reason you would utilize it is helps you store and ensure information, paying little mind to the dependability of the basic equipment and programming stack. This limits the cost of capacity and lessens capital uses for organizations. You can convey a Windows Server 2012 R2 document server connected to an only a cluster of plates (JBOD) stockpiling setup with Serial ATA (SATA) or Serially Attached SCSI (SAS) drives. Also, the arrangement could incorporate failover grouping where the client sends a scale-out, two-hub record server bunch with Storage Spaces, where the group utilizes a mutual JBOD stockpiling design with SAS drives #4 Server Roles: !) Active Directory Certificate Services 2) Active Directory Domain Services The primary Windows Server 2012/R2 part that I would introduce on a server for a small assembling organization is the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) part. The reason I would introduce this part on small assembling organizations server is because it permits the Windows Server 2012/R2 go about as a space controller. This is valuable for the assembling organization since it handles confirmation and approval for every one of the workers that are in a Windows area condition. The second Windows Server 2012/R2 part Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) gives adjustable administrations to issuing and overseeing endorsements in programming security frameworks that utilization open key advances. For foundation data about open key cryptography and the advantages of having an open key framework (PKI), You can utilize AD CS to make at least one affirmation specialists (CA) to get testament demands, check the data in the solicitations and the character of the requester, issue endorsements, renounce declarations, and distribute authentication denial information. #5 Server Core establishments require around 4 GB less space than a Server with a GUI establishment. By utilizing Server Core establishments on virtual machines, you can accomplish a huge space funds by not storing the GUI records on the virtual machines plate. Servers frequently have nearly a lot of memory and complex plate clusters, both of which can set aside a lot of opportunity to instate at startup. Since Server Core establishments limit the quantity of restarts required for updates, the recurrence at which plate clusters and memory must be re-introduced is lessened. Certain server applications have conditions on specific Windows administrations, libraries, applications, and records that are not accessible in Server Core establishments, but rather the manager needs to exploit the decreased requirement for refreshing commonplace of Server Core establishments. The Minimal Server Interface offers extra similarity while as yet keeping up a diminished framework impression (however to a lesser degree than a Server Core establishment). Highlights on Demand can be utilized to diminish the impression for your virtual machine organizations by evacuating parts and components that will never be sent in your virtual machines. Contingent upon the parts and elements utilized as a part of your virtual machines, it is conceivable to lessen the size by more than 1 GB. Diminished adjusting, Since Server Core introduces just what is required for a reasonable DHCP, File, DNS, Media Services, and Active Directory server, less adjusting is required. Decreased administration, since less is introduced on a Server Core-based server, less administration is required. Decreased assault surface Since there is less running on the server, there is less assault surface. Less plate space required Server Core requires around 3.4GB to introduce. More noteworthy solidness. Since a Server Core establishment has less running procedures and administrations than a Full establishment, the general dependability of Server Core is more noteworthy. Less things can turn out badly, and less settings can be designed mistakenly. Disentangled administration. Since there are less things to oversee on a Server Core establishment, its less demanding to arrange and bolster a Server Core establishment than a Full one-once you get the hang of it.
